THE PASSION FOR CHANGE MUSIC PROJECT

This is the project that was started up by me, it is located in one of Uganda's biggest slums called kisenyi, i have lived in this slum for the whole of my life and i know all the challenges that are being faced. After acquiring the skills from the sessions we got from the Butterfly project, i was able to start up a project basing on my ability i grew up with alot of passion for music and i have always loved music. so i had already looked for a way through which i could create change in my community because i was really tired of the difficulties that the young people were facing in the community and was therefore so passionate about creating change and i remembered that there are many talented chilldren in my community in music and they had no way of expressing their talents that i had to use these talents to create change by reaching out to the community. these are children aged four to sixteen and come from the disadvantaged homes.
They face many challenges in life like child abuse, among others, so through the music project i am able to cheer them up, and show them that they can overcome the challenges that they are facing and that they can show the other people going through the same thing that they can also make it.
We do sing and dance and we have composed our own songs. we also do some games for fun like the sports games. The rehearsals do take place twice in a week if they are not in holidays and if they are its three times. we have already performed on several occasions in the community and we are willing to do more. I would like to thank the people who have been helping me to realize my dreams come true, thank you very much and i appreciate, i am willing to do more, continue supporting me. This year we would like to do more like to train how to use the musical instruments, we would also love to not only reach out to our community but also other communities, i will be updating you more of the project.
